INTERFOOD ASTANA 2022: AN INTERNATIONAL PLATFORM FOR THE DEMONSTRATION OF FOOD, BEVERAGES, INGREDIENTS, EQUIPMENT FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY

From May 25 to 27, in the city of Nur-Sultan was held the exhibition of the food industry InterFood Astana 2022, in the EXPO IEC, which was visited by about 3,000 specialists in three days. Traditionally, suppliers of technologies and equipment, manufacturers, distributors and retailers of food and beverages met at the exhibition site. Among the visitors of the exhibition are manufacturers and distributors of food and beverages, representatives of wholesale trade enterprises, owners of retail stores, procurement specialists of retail chains interested in finding new suppliers, as well as manufacturers of domestic food and beverages.

The growing interest in the event is confirmed by the number of exhibiting companies that, after a forced two-year break, took part in the expo event site. 55 companies from Belarus, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia presented food, beverages, ingredients, equipment for the food industry and packaging of their own production.

International companies and manufacturers accounted for 75% of the total number of participants, for them the InterFood Astana project has become a gateway to the Kazakh market, allowing companies to expand the geography of sales and significantly increase the volume of supplies to Kazakhstan. Sabrina Regolo, CEO of M.I.N.E. –Business Consulting s.r.l.s., a single aggregator for the entry, promotion and support of European manufacturers to the Asian market, spoke about the importance of participating in such expo sites to establish partnership with Kazakhstan. "For us and our partners, this is the first participation, but not the last. For us, the InterFood Astana exhibition is a kind of "Welcome to Kazakhstan" showcase. I really liked the reaction from the people who came and tasted our products. Their positive reaction suggests that, firstly, our products are good, and secondly, the market of Kazakhstan can accept completely different, new tastes," Sabrina noted.

In addition to the presence of exhibitors from 6 countries, the event was attended by the National Stand of Belarus, collective stands of the Export Support Fund of the Moscow Region, the Export Support Center of the Novosibirsk Region and 27 companies that participated in the exhibition for the first time.

The participants of the InterFood Astana 2022 exhibition were able to provide high-quality content of the exposition, as evidenced by numerous reviews of visitors. Bekturganova Saltanat, Director of Clear All LLP, noted: "The exhibition is very interesting, I think that such exhibitions should be held more often. They help the industry to develop. Our company held negotiations with companies from Belarus and Russia.  A lot of domestic and foreign manufacturers are represented, we have found a lot of interesting things for ourselves."

The exhibition began its work with an introductory tour of the exposition, the guests of which were the guests of honor of the event: delegations of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Morocco in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Trade Representative Office of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center under the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

There was also an extensive business program organized for InterFood Astana visitors, including seminars, tastings, master classes, presentations and an expert session. On the first day of the exhibition, on May 25, an open capping took place – a professional tasting of coffee with an open brewing method from ProBarista. Also, leading domestic producers of food and beverages competed for the title of the best of the best, taking part in a professional competition-tasting of food and beverages Traditions of quality. Competent jury selected the winners in 10 nominations.

The audience was particularly interested in the special session: Export of Kazakhstani food products to priority markets. Import. Re-export. The speakers shared practical life hacks for conducting export transactions, effective study cases, and also discussed current export directions and state support measures. The session was attended by Gulmira Yusupova, Head of the Export Academy, and Ozhet Shegirbayev, Director of the Marketing and E-Commerce Department of the QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center under the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the days of the exhibition, 228 direct negotiations between manufacturers and retail chains\distributors of Kazakhstan took place within the retail center. Leading networks Magnum, Small, Arbuz.kz, Traffic Light, Galmart, Astykzhan, Uly Dala have identified a pool of their potential partners for the near future.
