THE CONFERENCE: BARRIERS TO INCREASE THE COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF SECONDARY RAW MATERIALS IN KAZAKHSTAN WILL BE HELD IN ASTANA
BAYTAQ Kazakhstani Green Party together with the Association of Processors of Secondary Raw Materials of Kazakhstan Association of Legal Entities decided on the need to hold a conference on the topic: barriers to increase the collection and processing of secondary raw materials in Kazakhstan, which will be held at the InterFood Astana 2023 exhibition platform, on May 31 this year in Astana, Conference Hall, 1A Bokeikhan st.
It is no secret that in Kazakhstan the development of the manufacturing industry for the processing of secondary raw materials has the same difficulties and problems for many years. For example, in terms of the absence or shortage of raw materials from processors (waste paper, plastic, glass cullet), the current lack of economic support for the industry (subsidies), tax preferences, the lack of a clear developed policy for the processing of municipal waste and secondary raw materials extracted from waste.
Each region of our Kazakhstan is moving along its own path of development, each region has different norms for the formation and accumulation of municipal waste and, accordingly, different tariffs for the population for the collection, transportation, sorting and disposal of solid household waste. The Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Code) was adopted in the 1st decade of January 2021 and came into force on July 1, 2021, however, to date, local executive bodies have not fully developed programs for managing municipal waste, that is, there are no programs approved by maslikhats, although these requirements were established by the Code more than 2 years ago.
In this connection, it is necessary to discuss the above problems with authorized state bodies, deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the public and market participants in waste management and secondary raw materials and develop specific mechanisms to support the industry with the participation of all parties.
