INNOVATIONS, TASTES AND BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES OF PARTNERSHIP IS BE IN THE LIMELIGHT OF INTERFOOD ASTANA FOOD EXHIBITION

FROM MAY 31 TO JUNE 2, ASTANA HOSTED THE FOOD INDUSTRY EXHIBITION - INTERFOOD ASTANA 2023. THE EXPOSITION FOR THE FIRST TIME TOOK PLACE IN A NEW PLACE - THE TECHNOLOGICAL NAZARBAYEV CENTER, WHICH WAS ATTENDED BY 1,783 VISITORS OVER THREE DAYS OF WORK, INCLUDING 1,145 INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS.

The impressive growth of the exhibition is reflected by dynamically growing indicators. Thus, in 2023, the exhibition area increased by 100% compared to 2022. Not only the exposition area, but also the number of exhibiting companies increased significantly, growing by 44%.

72 companies from Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Germany, Kazakhstan, China, Malaysia, Russia, Uzbekistan presented their products and equipment. The high interest of global food producers and distributors in the Kazakhstani market is clearly confirmed at InterFood Astana 2023. Over 70% of total number of exhibitors are international participants, reflecting the growing attractiveness and potential of this market. It is especially important to note that companies from Armenia, Vietnam and Malaysia are participating for the first time at InterFood Astana, which shows the possibility of opening up new prospects in the food industry of Kazakhstan and beyond. Large producers and distributors from the Republic of Belarus and a number of regions of the Russian Federation, including the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Orenburg, Penza and Chelyabinsk regions, acted as part of large national stands. As honorary guests, the exposition was visited by A.V. Loginov, the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan, D.P. Desov, the Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, P.V. Utyupin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mohammad Adli bin Abdullah, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Malaysia in Kazakhstan.

The InterFood Astana exhibition platform has become an effective dialogue field for technology and equipment suppliers, producers, distributors and retailers of food and beverages. Among the visitors of the exhibition are producers and distributors of food and beverages, representatives of wholesalers, owners of retail stores, purchasing specialists of retail chains interested in finding new suppliers, as well as producers of domestic food and beverages.

To organize productive b2b meetings, the annual Retail Distributor Center worked, where food suppliers actively held hundreds of meetings with representatives of retail chains and distributors of Kazakhstan. During the annual tasting competition “Traditions of Quality of InterFood Astana 2023”, domestic producers in the categories: Best Sausages, Best Special Products, Best Meat Products, Best Semi-finished Products received 10 Gold medals, confirming the highest quality of products.

Also, an extensive business program was organized for visitors to InterFood Astana, including seminars, tastings, master classes, and presentations. The conference: Barriers to increasing the collection and processing of secondary raw materials in Kazakhstan attracted the attention of both visitors and representatives of a number of media. The speakers were D.B. Bekmagambetov - the Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sh.N. Suyunbayev – the Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Development Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The conference was organized by the Kazakhstan Green Party “BAYTAK” together with the Association of Secondary Raw Material Recyclers of Kazakhstan Association of Legal Entities. At the meeting, practicing experts actively discussed important aspects of recycling, including the development prospects, economic benefits and environmental benefits associated with the use of secondary raw materials.

The issues of adaptation mechanisms in a rapidly changing economic environment, organizational sustainability and motivating leadership in food industry enterprises, innovation as the basis for strategic changes, optimization of processes in food industry enterprises were discussed by experts during a business session on the topic: Sustainable business development: production, leadership, marketing and promotion.
